Responsibilities

This is remote position that can be based anywhere in Germany, but preferably in the area of Bremen, Celle, Hannover, Hamburg.

This position will be responsible for the development of Fixed Gas and Flame detection sales in the assigned sales area, covering sales of all Best-Mix FGFD- product lines.

The aim of the role is to maintain and grow the customer base and business level in the north region of Germany. To work closely with Channel partners, driving the sales process across all MSA sales channels to win identified projects.

The role focuses selling in to target market segments whilst concentrating on developing sales of Gas Detectors, Flame Detectors, Fire & Gas Systems and associated ancillaries. As a result MSA gains a greater penetration into the available market with increased revenue growth and profitability.

Main responsibilities:

  • Order negotiations, coordination with service department in relation to commissioning and after sales contracts, general customer support in cooperation with the sales support team, giving customer presentations and attending trade fairs.
  • Well experiences with FEED - and EPC contractors and well experiences with international projects and the requirements for that.
  • Responsibility of the customers in the assigned territory (CER)
  • Acquisition of new customers.
  • Identify customer wants, needs and problems and ensure that customer’s requirements are met.
  • Identify and focus on best customers/segments in terms of profitability and potential.
  • Identify new customers and partnerships with systems integrators and design institutes (NII).
  • Define Best solutions/services with inside sales and service department for target customers/segments identified.
  • Obtain information and report to global and European team on competitor’s activities such as product offerings, prices, sales channels, strategies, etc.
  • Ensure, that customers product issues are addressed and solved in an prompt time scale.
  • Leverage customer satisfaction through increased focus on providing after sales service and solving warranty claims.
  • Monitoring all open files (orders, quotations etc.), Monitoring of maintenance contracts in FGFD.
  • Documentation in the CRM system (Salesforce):
    • Customer contacts and visits
    • Quotations
    • Orders
    • Projects
  • Drafting of reports on activities in accordance with the requirements.
  • Management of project lists, required KPI's.
Qualifications

Experience (required):

  • A minimum of 5 years in direct sales experience in Fire & Gas Detection or Safety products
  • Comprehensive understanding of current industry technical standards and practices
  • Proven ability to prospect and win new customers.
  • Proven ability to organize and present product and demonstrations to large groups.
  • Proven planning and organizational skills, with the ability to be both a self-starter as well as work compatibly within a team.
  • Strong organization, communication (including written and verbal technical and non-technical), interpersonal and management skills.
  • Proven ability to utilize CRM data analytics, reporting, and forecasting information to guide business decisions.
  • Creative problem-solving with a customer-based perspective.
  • Willingness to travel up to 75% overnight within the assigned sales territory.
  • Written & spoken German & English

Experience (preferred):

  • Experience managing/selling to EPC or relevant OGP & industrial market & New energy market
  • Relevant sales experience in industrial instrumentation or related products in an industrial market.

Education (required):

  • University degree (Bachelors), Engineering (Electronics or Instrumentation)
  • Chemical degree (technician, state-certified)

Education (preferred):

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or educational academic equivalent
