We are hiring an experienced Project Lead Engineer with core technical knowledge.
Responsibilities
- Lead large and complex German-language projects for air- and gas-insulated high-voltage substations (AIS and GIS, 110 kV – 380 kV), with overall responsibility for all engineering activities from project start to as-built phase, adhering strictly to project specifications, local laws, standards, and internal Linxon standards regarding quality, health, safety, and integrity.
- Review technical planning documents for substations, such as circuit diagrams, technical specifications, layouts, and detailed drawings, considering interfaces, standards, processes, and customer specifications.
- Create technical concepts, specifications, and select equipment and materials, considering costs, quality, standards, and customer requirements.
- Develop technical procurement specifications for both execution and tendering phases.
- Review and coordinate work packages, calculations, or studies with internal or external engineers.
- Lead technical clarification meetings with customers or suppliers.
- Support during construction in planning installation, commissioning, and on-site activities, resolving technical issues.
- Assist in creating procurement specifications, calculations, schedules, deviations, and bid evaluations.
- Plan hours, set schedules, and manage changes for technical packages and resources.
- Assist contract managers with technical aspects of claims, including scope changes, cost impacts, schedule effects, and risk assessments.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Over 5 years of experience in a leadership role in primary and/or secondary design of high-voltage substations.
- Knowledge of German legal requirements and standards.
- Results-oriented team player with a proactive approach.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships across multicultural environments.
- Good knowledge of high-voltage studies and calculations.
- Fluent in German (spoken and written) and proficient in English.
- Experience with document management systems (e.g., PIRS).
- Advanced MS Excel skills; familiarity with AutoCAD/Primtech, Engineering Base, or BIM/Navisworks is a plus.
