The company was incorporated in January 2018 and currently has offices and laboratories in Germany, US, Singapore, and China.

Our Engineering Department in Cologne, Germany, is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Product Development Engineer to support both new product development and the lifecycle management of existing products.

This role combines industrial and mechanical design responsibilities with hands-on production support, system-level coordination, and engineering documentation management. The candidate will work closely with R&D, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and project management teams to ensure smooth product transition from concept to mass production, as well as continuous improvement throughout the product lifecycle.

The position involves structural and appearance design, production optimization, certification support, quality improvement, and system-level engineering coordination.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical structures and product appearances for new products
• Maintain and improve existing products, including design updates and performance optimization
• Support production introduction, pilot builds, and mass production ramp-up
• Analyze and resolve manufacturing and assembly issues in collaboration with production teams
• Participate in process optimization and cost reduction initiatives
• Coordinate with quality teams on product quality improvement, testing, and issue tracking
• Assist in certification, compliance, and regulatory documentation preparation
• Support project management activities, timelines, and cross-department communication
• Create, organize, and maintain engineering documentation, drawings, BOMs, and technical files
• Contribute to system-level integration discussions, including mechanical, electrical, and enclosure interfaces

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or related engineering field
• Proficient in SolidWorks for 3D modeling and engineering drawings
• Experience with KeyShot or similar rendering tools is preferred
• Familiar with product development lifecycle and production processes
• Experience in manufacturing support, assembly troubleshooting, or process optimization is a plus
• Strong documentation and engineering file management skills
• Good communication skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams, fluent in German and English
• Experience in equipment, instruments, or hardware products is preferred
