The Institute of Philosophy at Goethe University Frankfurt am Main is seeking to fill two positions as Postdoctoral Researcher (E 13 TV-G-U) to be filled as of June 1, 2026, for a fixed term until May 31, 2028, with the possibility of extension for two additional years. Payment is according to the job characteristics of the collective agreement (TV-G-U) applicable to Goethe University.

Responsibilities

• Independent research within the framework of the ERC project LSR: https://www.lawstaterepublic.com
• Active scientific collaboration in the project team, support with administrative tasks within the scope of the project
• Publications and editions on the project topic
• Preparation of and participation in conferences and workshops of the project PI and project staff

Qualifications

• Completed academic university degree and doctorate in philosophy or closely related subjects
• Excellent familiarity with Kant’s philosophy (especially practical philosophy) and/or contemporary political philosophy, legal philosophy, and (meta)ethics, demonstrated by relevant publications and editions
• Very good English skills and willingness to work in a team
