The Institute of Anthropology and Cultural Research of Faculty 9 (Cultural Studies) at the University of Bremen is looking to fill a postdoctoral position associated with the Working Group of Public Anthropology (Prof. Dr. Nasima Selim), beginning April 1, 2026 or earlieras:
Postdoctoral Research Associate (f/m/d)
Pay grade 13 TV-L
with 100% of weekly working hours (39,2 hours) for a fixed term of three years with the possibility of extension only under certain conditions of qualification
in the area of Public Anthropology – Culture in Practice and Transfer.
The position is suitable for part-time work.
Details are to be agreed upon with the relevant department, if applicable.
The temporary position is for academic qualification in accordance with § 2 para. 1 of WissZeitVG (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz). Accordingly, only applicants who still have the relevant qualification periods in accordance with Section 2 (1) WissZeitVG can be considered.

Tasks
Academic services in teaching to the extent of 4 SWS (including imparting specialist knowledge and practical skills as well as instruction in the application of scientific methods in the Bachelor's and Master's degree programs to the extent of the applicable LVNV, teaching export (= subject-specific teaching for other teaching units))
In addition:
2. Own scientific work in the context of a postdoctoral research project. The academic research work should be in the field of Public Anthropology with a focus on Environmental Humanities with particular reference to the research agenda of the Professorship of Public Anthropology
3. Other university tasks, such as participation in academic self-administration
