Klinikum der Universität München seeks a Postdoctoral researcher to join the Translational Immunotherapy group led by Prof. Christoph Klein. The role includes engineering and purification of novel antibody formats, and development of iPSC-derived organoids for patient-specific therapy testing.

You will plan and coordinate experiments, prepare data for publication and grants, and supervise junior researchers in an interdisciplinary, international team.

Qualifications

• PhD in biology/biochemistry/biotechnology or equivalent.
• Experience in antibody engineering, protein expression and purification (e.g., FPLC).
• Molecular and cell biology techniques.
• iPSC cultivation/differentiation into immune cells.
• In vitro/in vivo functional assays; multi-omics data analysis is a plus.
• Independent work style; able to collaborate in an international team.
• Structured, meticulous and solution-oriented approach.
• Excellent English; German is a plus.

Scope of duties

As a PostDoc in the research group of Prof. Christoph Klein, you will join a translational research program and with the option to take on a leadership role.You will be involved in a precision immunotherapy program based on an innovative conditional strategy（“AND-GATE”）to target cancer and immune cells. This includes the engineering, production and purification of novel recombinant antibody formats, the setup and optimization of in vitro and in vivo functional assays, and the further development of our iPSC-derived organoid system for patient-specific therapy testing.You will help plan and coordinate ongoing experiments, prepare scientific data for publication and grant applications, and support the scientific supervision of junior researchers.

Our requirements

• Completed PhD in Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology or a comparable field
• Solid experience in the following areas:
  • Antibody engineering, protein expression and purification (e.g., FPLC)
  • Molecular biology and cell biology techniques
  • iPSC cultivation and/or differentiation into immune cell types
  • Experience with in vitro or in vivo functional assays and multi-omics data analysis is an advantage
• The ability to work independently, as well as in an interdisciplinary and international team
• A structured, meticulous and solution-oriented working style
• Excellent English skills; German skills are an advantage
