Overview
Accelerating Appalachia (ACAP) is a pioneering regenerative agriculture business accelerator. ACAP builds networks in regenerative agriculture to foster resilient communities and local economies, supporting commodity supply chains across the Central/Southern Appalachian region. Working with producers—including those impacted by job losses in mining, forestry, and the textile industry—ACAP creates and grows producer pipelines to regenerative commodities across eight states in the underserved 8-state region. ACAP is committed to building a robust economy that benefits the agricultural sector, farmlands, health, and prosperity in Central/Southern Appalachia and the rural Southeast.
In 2023, ACAP launched Building Appalachian Agricultural Resilience (BAAR), an program to incentivize farmers to adopt regenerative agriculture practices across eight states in Central/Southern Appalachia and the rural Southeast.
