As part of our strategic expansion into Europe, Sedgman has officially opened its first European office in Frankfurt, Germany. This marks an exciting chapter in our growth as we support major critical raw materials projects. Our team is at the forefront of delivering innovative, sustainable engineering solutions that drive the energy transition across Europe.

To support this growth, we’re looking for a Manager, Project Controls to join our team in Frankfurt, Germany.

As the Manager, Project Controls, you will be responsible for:

  • Overseeing the planning, cost control, risk management, change management process and IT for the project/s.
  • Influencing the project’s direction and providing valuable support to the project management team.
  • Establish project controls processes and procedures (either directly or with the project team) for projects that conform to corporate standards and meet client reporting expectations.
  • Develop and undertake (as required) project controls auditing at key stages of the project cycle against established standards.
  • Ensure Cost Management applications / systems are effectively implemented for new projects which meet the agreed criteria and provide project teams support on an ongoing basis to ensure these systems are utilised effectively.
  • Analyse and report on available project data sources along with broad-based economic, technical, legal and other data/trends.
  • Manage the activities of the Project Controls function with respect to resourcing, exchange of information, knowledge and techniques.
  • Mentor and coach the Project Controls Team in build technical capacity and meet broader development needs.
  • Lead the Project Controls Team to provide timely and targeted support to Project Teams.
  • Contribute to and assist with project proposals in relation to cost/schedule needs and associated time and cost claims.

You are an experienced Manager, Project Controls with the following qualifications and background:

  • Bachelor’s degree (engineering, financial or related field)
  • MBA or equivalent relevant diverse management experience.
  • Minimum 15 years’ experience in managing projects within the metals and minerals processing industry.
  • Experience in managing global lines of business and demonstrated high level of understanding of various cultures based on previous work experience.
  • Extensive experience with Primavera P6, Microsoft Suite and Earned Value reporting.
  • Proven ability to navigate and collaborate across diverse cultural environments, gained through extensive international work experience.
  • You are proactive and a confident negotiator known for your positive and resilient attitude
  • Proven experience working within EPCM project environments.
  • Advanced client, people, collaboration, communication and management skills.
  • High attention to detail and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage self and others time, priorities and activities.
  • Fluency in English is required, and working proficiency in German.
