Workster is partnering with a fast-growing startup in the e-mobility sector to recruit a Lead E-Bike Mechanic based in either Berlin or Düsseldorf - a relocation package is provided.

In this role, you will manage a large center, overseeing a team of talented mechanics who refurbish and repair e-bikes to excellent quality standards. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the success of a rapidly expanding company that is making e-mobility accessible to all. As Head of Bike Mechanics, you will lead the team, optimize processes, and continue to scale operations to meet growing demand.

Your Role

• Recruit and build a successful team of bike mechanics, continuing to grow the team to meet operational needs.
• Manage and lead the team, assigning tasks and maintaining high motivation across the team.
• Develop Mechanic Team Leads, ensuring their professional growth and performance management.
• Oversee the inspection, repair, and quality control of various e-bike brands and models.
• Build and maintain an efficient training program to onboard new mechanics and increase skill levels.
• Manage the inventory of spare parts and consumables, ensuring timely and efficient repairs.
• Ensure all bikes meet the highest quality standards and contribute to the further training of your team.
• Use your expertise in hardware and software to improve repair processes and e-bike service.
• Optimize operations at the UpCenter, identifying areas for improvement and contributing your ideas.

Your Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience as a bike mechanic, with expertise in solving complex mechanical issues.
• 2+ years of experience managing and leading a team of skilled bike mechanics.
• Strong experience in continuous improvement of team performance and repair processes.
• Excellent inventory management skills, able to build and maintain a complex inventory of spare parts and consumables.
• Organizational skills and the ability to work at a fast pace in a growing environment.
• Leadership experience, with a results-oriented and decision-making mindset.
• Strong communication skills in German (fluent) and English (good knowledge), other languages are a plus.
• A passion for e-mobility and a strong desire to contribute to the growth of a sustainable and innovative industry.
