Overview

We are hiring! You love teaching languages? You speak English like a native and at best you can also speak Japanese? You are living in or around Düsseldorf, Germany and are looking for a new job? Maybe we should talk!

We are a private language school for Japanese people in Düsseldorf that teaches English and German (adult and kids lessons).

Role and work arrangements

We are looking for new teachers to join our on-site staff (currently a team of 23 teachers and 2 Japanese staff) on a freelance basis. The teaching language is Japanese - esp. for beginners - so it would be ideal if you can speak Japanese or have experience with teaching Japanese learners.

The job is very suitable as a part-time job for students, for example, if you have relevant teaching experience and/or qualifications (e.g. TEFL)!

To start with, we are thinking of 2 to 5 lessons of 60 minutes per week. If it's going well and you want to, the number of lessons can be increased at any time. We would also be very happy to welcome further teachers that work with us full-time!

We offer

We offer a friendly team, help with familiarisation (class observation, joint lesson planning), but also the opportunity to quickly take on responsibility for teaching. Lessons are completely customised, there is no need to follow a syllabus. We are entirely guided by the wishes of our clients. You are very welcome to use your own material, but plenty of teaching material is available also.

We expect

Motivation, reliability, a friendly manner and, of course, perfect English (and good Japanese) language skills. Preferably, you have experience teaching Japanese people.

Teaching experience and/or qualifications are highly desirable, but if you are motivated, we can also help you familiarise with teaching by sitting in on classes and planning lessons together with our experienced teachers.
