Job summary

Big Mamma Group in Berlin is seeking a Junior Assistant Manager to lead the front-of-house, uphold service standards, and embody our values of excellence and authenticity.

You will manage shifts, optimize table turnover, monitor performance, support recruitment and onboarding, handle stock and cash, and drive team cohesion. This is a permanent contract at 42 hours per week with meal on shift and employee discounts, with mobility across Germany and Europe.

Take the lead with La Squadra as a JUNIOR ASSISTANT MANAGER in Berlin

With the Group’s continued growth, we are looking for our next rising star to join our restaurants in Berlin. As a Junior Assistant Manager, you will report to the Front-of-House Manager and embody our values of excellence, meritocracy, entrepreneurship, and authenticity in the restaurant every day.

Your areas of responsibility

Responsible for service quality

• Ensure excellence, consistency, and speed of service, in line with the Big Mamma vision.
  


• Responsible for welcoming guests.
  

Contribute to the restaurant’s performance

• Optimize table turnover / service pace and staff efficiency for resetting tables.
  


• Ensure the average check meets targets through staff briefings, sales training requests when needed, performance monitoring of section heads, and individual coaching.
  

Ensure smooth front-of-house operations

• Ensure compliance with dining room hygiene standards.
  


• Propose initiatives to control front-of-house labor costs.
  


• Oversee team schedules.
  


• Responsible for orders and stock management (wine, tableware, aprons).
  


• Responsible for cash handling.
  


• Ensure proper use and maintenance of equipment.
  

Responsible for the success of the front-of-house team

• Participate in the recruitment process for new hires.
  


• Support the onboarding of new team members.
  


• Coach and support the front-of-house team daily.
  


• Be a key driver of team cohesion and positive working relationships.
