Onsite Support Engineer | International Non‑Profit Organisation | Cologne | 6‑Month Contract
Our client is a globally active non‑profit organisation operating across multiple continents and supporting impactful medical and humanitarian initiatives. The team in Cologne provides essential frontline IT support to local and international staff, ensuring smooth, secure and efficient day‑to‑day technical operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide onsite 1st and 2nd line support, resolving common hardware and software issues and escalating more complex cases when needed
- Log, document and update tickets, keeping users informed throughout the resolution process
- Support and maintain end‑user devices, including desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices and meeting room equipment
- Assist with user account management, permissions, and basic Active Directory tasks
- Install, configure and troubleshoot workplace IT equipment, ensuring new and replacement devices are set up correctly
- Support Windows client systems and standard workplace applications, ensuring users can work efficiently
- Coordinate basic onboarding activities for new employees, including workstation setup and introductory IT guidance
- Maintain accurate local inventory of IT assets, ensuring equipment is tracked and usable
- Liaise with external vendors for onsite repairs or replacements when necessary
- Contribute to improvements in IT support processes and user experience
What You Bring
- Experience in 1st or 2nd line support within a professional environment
- Good understanding of Windows client systems, basic networking and common workplace technologies
- Familiarity with Active Directory or similar user management tools
- Hands‑on, structured and service‑oriented approach to technical support
- Strong communication skills and proficiency in German and English
