Heat Recovery Steam Generator Engineer

HRSG Engineer – Combined Cycle Power Plants

We are hiring an experienced HRSG (Heat Recovery Steam Generator) Engineer to design, optimize, and maintain HRSG systems within combined cycle power plants. The role demands strong expertise in thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics, coupled with hands-on experience in combined cycle operations and performance optimization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop thermal layouts and HRSG designs, conduct heat balance calculations, and size pumps, valves, piping, and other system components.
• Create and optimize heat and mass balance diagrams, predict plant performance, and develop performance correction curves.
• Conduct inspections, diagnose faults, and perform preventive maintenance to ensure reliable HRSG operation.
• Work with mechanical, electrical, and thermal engineers, as well as operations and maintenance teams, to achieve maximum plant efficiency.
• Ensure adherence to relevant regulations, codes, and standards, including ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Codes.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Proven experience in gas turbine combined cycle power plant operations and their impact on HRSG performance.
• In-depth understanding of HRSG components, metallurgy, and steam/water condition effects.
• Proficiency with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Codes (Sections I and VIII).
• Strong technical foundation in thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, and process calculations.
• Skilled in analyzing operational data to drive performance improvements.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience with performance modeling software.
• Knowledge of water chemistry and its impact on HRSG components.
• Familiarity with instrumentation and control systems.
• Experience with visual inspection and non-destructive examination (NDE) of HRSG pressure parts.
