Job description

Your mission

We help SME's get paid with the same certainty as large corporates.

Our Business Operations & Collections team plays a key part in keeping that promise, and you’ll be part of it.

You make sure invoices are paid on time, and when they aren’t, you find a fair solution.

You’re also a first point of contact for our merchants and their customers. Every business you call is our customer’s customer, so how you communicate matters as much as what you collect.

We’re looking for someone who wants to become an excellent collector: firm on outcomes, fair with people, and service-minded at heart.

You’ll learn the full receivable lifecycle, from approval through payment to dunning, and through dunning when a payment doesn’t come in.

What you will do
  • Be the first point of contact for merchants and debtors by phone, email and ticket, and resolve their questions quickly and reliably
  • Call overdue debtors, find out why payments are late, and agree realistic payment dates or instalment plans
  • Follow up on agreements and move cases through our dunning process when they slip
  • Reconcile incoming payments daily and resolve disputes and invoice corrections with merchants
  • Approve receivables within defined guardrails and escalate edge cases to the risk team
  • Use AI tools to work faster: summarising cases, preparing calls, drafting messages
  • Over time, take on complex cases and prepare handovers to our collection partners and lawyers
Your profile
  • First professional experience in customer service, collections, accounts receivable or accounting. A commercial apprenticeship or a business degree is a good starting point too.
  • You’re ambitious and enjoy being measured on clear results, such as collected amounts and resolved cases.
  • Your German is excellent (C1 or higher), spoken and written. You build trust quickly on the phone and get complex topics across clearly.
  • You stay friendly and firm in tense conversations, and you know when to be flexible and when to hold the line.
  • You enjoy helping people, and you want every merchant and debtor to end the conversation with a clear next step.
  • You work in a structured, detail-oriented way and are comfortable with Excel or Google Sheets.
  • AI tools are already part of how you work, and you know where they save time and where they need a human check.
  • Your English is at B2 level or higher, for working in our international team and handling international debtors.
Bonus Points
  • Experience with dunning (Mahnwesen), Inkasso or the court dunning procedure (gerichtliches Mahnverfahren)
  • A background in factoring, B2B lending or trade credit
Why us?

We expect nothing less than changing the way mid-sized B2B companies get paid. This is an invitation to an exciting journey, with complex challenges, hard work and the support you need to succeed with us as a team.

  • Real responsibility from day one in a small, fast-moving team
  • 28 days of holiday per year (based on a 5-day working week)
  • Hands-on training from an experienced collections lead
  • A clear path to Senior Collections Specialist
  • Steep growth opportunities in a rising fintech
  • €40 monthly benefits budget via Spendit
  • Regular company offsites
  • Berlin office with our own barista
  • Dedicated personal development budget
  • Referral bonus for bringing in new colleagues
  • Tilta swag
