A leading design technology firm in Berlin is seeking a Language Manager. This role focuses on the localisation of content for the German market, ensuring a high-quality user experience for German-speaking customers. You will work closely with marketing and content teams to develop a unique voice and style guide for the brand in German. The ideal candidate has a passion for languages and culture and enjoys writing engaging content. This position offers a full-time, fixed-term contract with flexible work arrangements.

This role is a 12 month fixed term contract working full-time hours.
Canva’s International Supergroup is responsible for driving growth and deepening adoption across our key regions worldwide. We are an entrepreneurial, cross-functional team that turns bold strategy into culturally resonant execution.
In Germany, our mission is to empower all German people to design and to make Canva one of the most beloved and culturally iconic brands in the country. We see an enormous opportunity to accelerate Germany’s creative economy, uplift millions of creators, and position German as a regional creative hub.
As a Language Manager, you’ll bring your linguistic and cultural knowledge to all aspects of localisation, ensuring our international users have the best possible Canva experience. You’ll be the creative hub for all content in German and help advise on Canva’s branding in that market.
After 6 months you will have established relationships with key stakeholders in marketing, subscriptions, content and localisation that will allow you to deploy your local expertise. You’ll have created processes and channels for communicating best practices and completing internal requests such as copy-writing, content review, and translation guidelines.
You’re a natural at writing clear, fun, and engaging content. You’re passionate about languages and cultures and you understand how these can impact people’s experience of a product. Above all else, you understand what our customers in Germany need in order to be able to understand and use Canva.
We’re looking for someone with an entrepreneurial spirit, with a strong bias towards action and ownership. The team in Germany is small and there will be lots of opportunities to contribute beyond the scope of this specific role, so we value energy and adaptability over specific experience or years of experience.
