A leading environmental firm in Munich is seeking a geochemical modeler to develop tools for simulating enhanced rock weathering processes. Ideal candidates hold an M. Sc. or PhD in a relevant field and possess strong knowledge of geochemical modeling concepts, alongside programming skills in Python. You’ll collaborate with a dedicated team and engage with the scientific community to advance our mission of permanent carbon removal. This position offers a dynamic, team-oriented atmosphere with opportunities to influence scientific practices.
Munich, Germany
ZeroEx is scaling permanent carbon removal through enhanced rock weathering (ERW) projects in Germany, Brazil, and the United States. We license cutting‑edge measurement tech that verifies every tonne sequestered, opening up the ERW industry to mining and agribusinesses ready to add an additional business model or decarbonize their core business.
If you are self‑driven, independent, motivated by difficult challenges and deeply care about climate impact, you’ll feel at home here.
As our geochemical modeler, you will develop in‑house tools to simulate ERW‑relevant processes in a range of conditions. You will be responsible for predictions of weathering rates across feedstocks, soil types and climates calibrated using data from projects around the world. You will work closely with our team of scientists and data engineers to design core modeling principles and processes. Additionally, you will keep up to date with current modeling advancements, try new methods and engage with the scientific community.
