Data Scientist | Greenfield AI Platform | FMCG Leader | Azure, Databricks, SQL | Dortmund (Hybrid)

AI Futures has been exclusively retained to appoint a Data Scientist for a €3bn-revenue FMCG organisation embarking on a major AI transformation. The company is building a completely greenfield AI & Data platform on Azure, with significant investment in advanced analytics, machine learning, and Generative AI to drive customer value, operational excellence, and digital innovation.

This is a hands‑on, impact‑focused role working across large‑scale commercial and operational datasets, shaping both the technical foundations and AI capabilities of the organisation.

Hybrid: 2 days per week onsite in Dortmund.

Package: Up to €100k total package

The Role

• Design, build, and deploy machine learning models that deliver measurable impact across customer, marketing, and operational domains.
• Develop scalable data pipelines and analytical workflows using Azure and Databricks.
• Leverage Python and SQL to transform, analyse, and model complex datasets.
• Partner with business stakeholders to identify and prioritise high‑value use cases across sales, supply chain, and customer engagement.
• Contribute to defining standards, governance, and best practices for the new greenfield data & AI platform.
• Prototype and experiment with Generative AI solutions—including RAG pipelines and document understanding—to enhance decision intelligence.

The Candidate

• 2+ years of experience in Data Science or Machine Learning.
• Strong skills in Python and SQL.
• Hands‑on experience with Azure and Databricks in production or project environments.
• Solid understanding of feature engineering, data modelling, and model deployment.
• Interest or experience in applying GenAI to real business use cases.
• Languages: German (English a plus)
