Job summary

JD.COM in Berlin is seeking an experienced specialist to manage cross-border customs operations and document review across Europe. You will receive, verify and enter forecast data, review commercial invoices, packing lists and origin certificates, and monitor progress to prevent delays.

Fluent in Chinese and English, with at least 5 years in the field and 3+ years in a related role, you will drive root-cause analysis, coordinate with forwarders, customs brokers, carriers and customer service,

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Forecast receipt and entry of cross-border cargo data with accuracy.
• Review customs documents for completeness, compliance and consistency; follow up on gaps.
• Monitor customs clearance progress in real time and escalate delays or inspections.
• Lead handling of customs exceptions and coordinate with forwarders, brokers, carriers and customer service.
• Conduct root-cause analyses and drive SOP improvements to reduce exceptions and complaints.

Job description

• Forecast Receipt & Entry: Receive, verify and enter cross-border cargo forecast information into the system; ensure key data (product name, quantity, value, shipper/consignee) is accurate and complete.


• Document Review & Follow-up: Review customs documents (commercial invoice, packing list, customs declaration, certificate of origin) for completeness, compliance and consistency; follow up on missing or abnormal documents to reduce customs delay risks.


• Customs Clearance Tracking: Monitor customs clearance progress in real time, record milestone timelines, identify exceptions (delays, inspection, detention) and escalation for resolution.


• Exception Alert & Coordination: Lead handling of customs exceptions, cargo damage/loss and last-mile delivery failures; coordinate with forwarders, customs brokers, carriers and customer service for quick closure.


• Quality Improvement & Process Optimization: Conduct root causes analysis based on exception data and complaints; identify quality risks in cross-border operations, drive SOP optimization and standardization to reduce exception and repeat-complaint rates.

About You

• Education: Bachelor's degree or above


• Language: Fluent in both Chinese and English


• Professional Skills: Capable in cross-border customs operations and document review; familiar with full-chain cross-border logistics processes and customs documentation requirements; experience in logistics exception handling, quality improvement or process optimization projects preferred; strong risk identification, multi-party coordination and root cause analysis skills.
