Job Title: Commercial Lead – Frankfurt

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Commercial Lead to oversee the financial and contractual aspects of high-profile construction and civil engineering projects, with a focus on pharmaceutical and data centre sectors. The successful candidate will manage contract administration, valuations, cash flow, and commercial risk, while leading a team of surveyors and ensuring compliance with all contractual obligations.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly, interim, and final valuations, applications for payment, reconciliations of valuations and costs, and amounts for contracts, sub‑contractors, specialists, and suppliers.
- Provide accurate and timely information to support regular review of cash flow and contract positions.
- Collaborate with the Procurement Manager to place sub‑contracts as required.
- Conduct detailed reviews of contract documents and identify anomalies or areas of risk.
- Prepare, submit, and agree interim and final valuation dates with client representatives.
- Generate all necessary take‑offs in advance for Estimating, Procurement, and Planning teams.
- Prepare contract final accounts for completed sections of works, including all adjustments, and submit for client agreement.
- Maintain detailed records of contractual delays and manage claims where applicable.
- Lead, mentor, and develop contract surveyors, assistant surveyors, and junior surveyors reporting to the role.
- Monitor and manage commercial risk, ensuring compliance with company and client standards.
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years’ commercial experience, preferably with a main contractor.
- Proven experience in construction/civil engineering projects, ideally in pharmaceutical or data centre sectors.
- Strong knowledge of contract administration, valuations, final accounts, and subcontractor management.
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills, with a detail‑oriented approach.
- Leadership and team management experience.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to liaise with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Fluent in English; German language skills highly desirable.
