Overview
Mercury is seeking an experienced Commercial Lead to join our site team on a large Data Centre construction project in Frankfurt. The successful candidate will have a strong track record in cost management and quantity surveying, with experience managing commercial aspects of large-scale construction projects.
Principal Duties And Responsibilities
- Lead the project Commercial Team and provide support to the construction team on all commercial and quantity surveying functions.
- Ensure compliance with contract obligations and provide advice and monitoring to the construction team.
- Identify potential commercial risks and ensure prompt reporting to management.
- Compile monthly progress applications with accurate remeasure, site variations, dayworks or claims.
- Procurement – operational procurement activity and contract support, in conjunction with the Procurement Department.
- Manage subcontractor accounts from initial award to interim valuation, variations, and final account.
- Forecast turnover and cash flow for the projects.
- Review and commercially manage all projects to ensure accurate and reliable reporting.
- Identify, analyse, and report on trends within the Business & Projects; provide data and analysis of issues & risks as required by Management.
- Improve and implement best practice commercial processes and accurate budgeting.
- Lead, support, and coach commercial team members in best practice quantity surveying and cost management methods.
- Review all incoming correspondence from Employers, Design Team and/or subcontractors to identify contractually critical items and initiate replies.
- Ensure Construction Team adheres to all Contractual Requirements and provide advice and monitoring of same.
- Ensure reporting is in line with Group Policies and highlight exceptions to Management.

Essential Criteria
- Relevant third level qualification in Quantity Surveying, or equivalent (e.g., engineering) with commercial experience.
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience post qualification with General Contractor experience.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent IT Skills (SAP experience is an advantage).
- Excellent communication and organisation skills.
- Must have excellent English language skills.
Desirable Criteria
- Data centre experience.
- CSA and MEP experience.
