Job Summary
The BD Manager for Europe will drive new business revenue across EMEA biotech and pharma accounts for our integrated preclinical CRO & small molecule/biologics CDMO services. This role owns the full sales cycle, builds long-term relationships with European drug discovery companies, and delivers annual sales pipeline & revenue targets.
Key Responsibilities
Identify, prospect and develop new biotech, mid-pharma and spin-out academic clients across Europe, focusing on preclinical drug discovery projects: small molecule, antibody & protein discovery, pharmacology, DMPK, early toxicology, and GMP CMC.
Lead end-to-end BD cycle: outreach, client meetings, technical discovery calls, coordinate internal scientific team for proposal, quotation, MSA & SOW negotiation, close new projects.
Represent ChemPartner at key European conferences including BioEurope, ELRIG and regional biotech events; build brand awareness and expand professional network.
Monitor European biotech market, competitor CRO landscape and client pipeline trends; provide market insights to headquarters to refine service positioning and pricing strategy.
Serve as primary commercial contact post-award, coordinate with internal PM, scientific and QA teams, mitigate client risks and maintain high customer retention.
Maintain CRM and sales pipeline, provide regular forecast and business updates to global BD leadership.
Qualifications
Master’s degree or above in Medicinal Chemistry, Chemistry, Pharmacology, Biology, Pharmaceutical Sciences or related life science; PhD is preferred.
Minimum 3+ years of BD / technical sales experience in CXO / preclinical CRO industry, with existing European biotech/pharma network is a strong plus. Hands-on experience in DMPK, pharmacology, small molecule or biologic early discovery business development preferred.
Fluent English for technical & commercial negotiation; German / French is highly preferred.
Solid understanding of drug discovery workflow, GLP standards and preclinical outsourcing business model; able to communicate technically with client R&D leaders.
Proven track record of hitting sales targets, strong cross-cultural communication, negotiation skills, self-motivated, result-oriented, willing to travel extensively in Europe.
Familiar with CRO quotation, MSA, IP and confidentiality terms; capable of commercial contract negotiation.
Strict compliance with anti-bribery and EU commercial ethics requirements.
