Zusammenfassung

GE Healthcare is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Repair Technician to respond to service calls, diagnose, and repair basic biomedical equipment at assigned sites. You will support experienced technicians, perform routine preventive maintenance, and ensure accurate documentation and regulatory compliance.

The role requires an engineering degree or equivalent experience, at least one year in the field, strong communication skills, and the ability to work on-call with lifting and safety

Qualifikationen

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field; OR equivalent military education; OR participation in GEHC Biomed/FE Services Internship or Military Externship; OR High School Diploma/GED with 2+ years servicing electrical, electronics, IT, or mechanical equipment
  • One year of experience
  • Analytical and communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues to customers clearly
  • Must comply with GEHC's background checks and post-offer drug testing
  • Willingness to work after hours or on-call, including weekends

Jobbeschreibung

  • Respond to service calls to evaluate, diagnose, and repair customers' basic biomedical equipment
  • Perform planned maintenance and safety/environmental inspections
  • Assist experienced technicians with basic and complex repairs and resolutions

  • Follow GE policies, procedures, hospital protocols, and complete required documentation
  • Maintain daily customer communications to ensure resolution and follow-up
  • Implement GE/customer facility contracts and support business objectives
  • Provide efficient service delivery to accounts within the assigned area
  • Share on-call responsibility when trained
  • Document repair actions and submit reports and summaries on schedule
  • Maintain and properly care for spares, tools, and test equipment, including calibration
  • Maintain technical knowledge of standards, codes, procedures, and safe medical-equipment use
  • Use manuals, technical support, FaceTime, and online resources to answer PM questions
  • Meet Health and Human Services, environmental health and safety, regulatory, quality, and compliance requirements
  • Ensure work orders, service reports, time and expense reports, PM activities, purchase orders, and other duties are documented accurately and timely
  • Ensure test equipment is tracked and 100% calibrated on time
Requirements
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field; OR equivalent military education; OR participation in the formal GEHC Biomed/FE Services Internship or Military Externship program; OR High School Diploma/GED and 2+ years of experience servicing electrical, electronics, IT, or mechanical equipment
  • One year of experience
  • Analytical and communication skills with the ability to communicate technical issues to customers in an easy-to-understand manner
  • Must comply with GEHC's standard background check, including a post-offer drug test
  • Must comply with customer access policies, including required immunizations and additional drug tests or background checks as applicable
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 35 lbs. unassisted
  • Must frequently bend, stoop, twist, climb, crouch/squat, kneel/crawl, sit, and stand for long periods
  • Must reach at, above, and below shoulder level, flex/extend neck, and have good hand and finger dexterity
  • Specific vision abilities may include color, close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception
  • Willingness to work after hours or a rotating on-call schedule, including weekends
  • Must comply with GEHC quality, compliance, regulatory, documentation, and calibration requirements
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • No employment visa sponsorship available
  • Role restricted to U.S. persons due to access to export-controlled technology; proof of status required
