SOFTGAMES is seeking an experienced Art Lead - Fully Remote to join our team and own the artistic vision for our live, casual Hexa Stack game. You will also be the artistic pioneer for new prototype games where you will work hands-on all the way from idea to implementation with a strong focus on UI assets.

As Art Lead , you will be part of a small, agile team where you will own the artistic vision, support more junior team members, and work together with the Producer, Developers, and the Designer to ensure the highest visual quality of all art assets, including UI , animations, visual effects , meta game elements , and core gameplay elements . You will also collaborate with our technical artist and help the team implement new technologies and AI-workflows to boost productivity.

Your Role:

• Create Quality Art Assets : Create high quality UI, core gameplay assets, and meta game assets all the way from concept to implementation.

• Own the Artistic Vision : Ensure consistency and quality of the art you and the other artists produce and provide clear, actionable feedback to more junior team members, ensuring alignment with the game’s style and quality.

• Create Animations and Effects : Create UI animations, transitions and visual effects, and implement them in the engine.

• Prototype New Titles : Explore new prototype games all the way from concept to playable builds.

• Support Your Team : Support and mentor more junior artists on your team.

• UX Design : Communicate your ideas about improving screen flows and game features from the perspective of the user experience.

• Technical Expert : Ensure that all the art assets are delivered to the developers in accordance with the project’s technical requirements.

• AI-Workflows : Comfortable integrating AI tools as part of the art pipeline.

• Team Communicator : Be a strong communicator who is adept at resolving conflicts and thrives in a diverse, multi-cultural, remote work environment.

• Foster Team Culture : Promote an open, collaborative team environment that encourages creativity and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Bonus Skills (Not Required):

• Experience designing characters and environments
• Experience animating in Spine
• Experience working with and giving feedback to external artists and studios

Your Profile:

• 1+ years of experience in the games industry as an art lead

• 5+ years of experience in the games industry in UI-focused art positions

• Experience with UX design
• Proven experience with casual puzzle games and free to play mobile games
• Advanced proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite
• Experienced in managing your own tasks from concept through completion
• Deep understanding of the artistic workflow in all areas of the art production, including UI, core gameplay, meta gameplay, and animations.
• Passionate about creating, evolving and executing an artistic vision
• An excellent eye for detail
• Strong understanding of what world-leading mobile games look like
• Exceptional communication in English
• Experience with or openness to using AI tools in your day-to-day work
