A forward thinking Tech start-up based near Cologne is seeking to bolster their team with a dynamic Analog Design Engineer.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement analog frontend circuits—including LNAs, drivers, filters, bias networks, mixers, amplifiers, and clocking blocks—for high-speed data converters and communication systems.
- Develop and validate clocking, biasing, and interface circuits to support reliable high-speed ADC and DAC operation.
- Conduct system-level analyses and circuit simulations (AC, noise, transient, Monte Carlo, and corner cases) to ensure performance robustness.
- Apply expertise in floor-planning, device matching, shielding, and parasitic reduction to optimise circuit performance.
- Prepare detailed documentation of design specifications, simulation outcomes, and testing methodologies.
Requirements:
- M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or a related field with solid experience in analog/mixed-signal circuit design for transmitters and receivers.
- Expertise in LNAs, VGAs, drivers, mixers, clocking circuits, and deep understanding of linearity, noise, distortion, and performance trade-offs.
- Proficient with EDA tools including Cadence Virtuoso/Spectre, ADS, HSPICE, and skilled in behavioral modeling with Verilog-A and SystemVerilog-AMS.
- Experienced in full-custom analog layout, including extraction, verification, sign-off, and working with advanced CMOS process nodes.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in multidisciplinary engineering environments.
