Job summary

AgileEngine, LLC. is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to operate and improve a Snowflake-based data platform in a regulated healthcare environment. You will lead data ingestion, modeling, and quality across RAW, CURATED, and CONSUMPTION layers, driving reliability and governance.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate with Cloud/DevOps, Analytics, Security, and business stakeholders, and ensure secure, scalable data workflows in a 9:00–18:00 PT window with on-call rotation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Data Engineering or Data Platform Engineering.
• Snowflake: data-layer design, performance, access patterns, production troubleshooting.
• Advanced SQL with dbt for transformation, testing, lineage, deployment.
• Experience with Fivetran or HVR and custom ingestion pipelines.
• Hands-on with AWS data services (S3) and file-based ingestion patterns.
• Experience with Argo Workflows on Kubernetes for data workloads.
• Proficiency in Python for data engineering, automation, tooling.
• Strong data modeling, dependencies, schema evolution, backfills, data quality.
• Observability: logging, alerting, incident management for production data platforms.
• Lead complex incidents, root-cause analysis, preventive improvements.
• Ability to make sound technical decisions, estimate work, guide improvements.
• Mentor engineers and collaborate with Cloud/DevOps, Analytics, Security, governance.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior ownership for Data Platform during LatAm coverage window.
• Operate and improve Snowflake environments, including config, sizing, monitoring.
• Administer data access with least-privilege controls and audit readiness.
• Manage data ingestion across Fivetran, HVR, and custom pipelines.
• Design and maintain pipelines and dbt models across RAW, CURATED, CONSUMPTION.
• Support S3 data-lake operations and downstream Snowflake workloads.
• Coordinate with Cloud/DevOps for Argo/Kubernetes workloads.
• Define data quality and observability standards; implement checks.
• Expand monitoring and lineage with tools like SYNQ, dbt, Splunk, alerting.
• Lead major data incidents; perform post-incident reviews and preventive actions.
• Support Tableau Cloud operations for upstream data connectivity and extracts.
• Drive standardization, automation, reliability, performance, cost improvements.
• Execute service-management processes; create runbooks and docs.
• Mentor mid-level engineers and ensure effective handoffs across teams.
• Participate in on-call rotation for critical incidents.
