Job summary

AgileEngine, LLC. is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to own and evolve a Snowflake‑based data platform in a regulated healthcare environment.

You will drive architecture, ingestion, and data quality across RAW, CURATED, and CONSUMPTION layers, while collaborating with Cloud/DevOps, Analytics, Security, and business stakeholders. The role requires 5+ years of data engineering experience, advanced SQL and dbt expertise, and strong Python tooling.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional data engineering experience.
• Snowflake design, performance, access, and troubleshooting.
• Advanced SQL and dbt for transformations, testing, lineage, and deployment.
• Experience with managed ingestion tools like Fivetran or HVR and custom pipelines.
• Hands-on AWS data services, especially S3 and ingestion patterns.
• Orchestration with Argo Workflows on Kubernetes or similar.
• Proficiency in Python for data tooling and automation.
• Strong data modeling, schema evolution, and data quality practices.
• Observability, logging, alerting, and incident management for production data platforms.
• Ability to drive root‑cause analysis and preventive improvements.
• Excellent English communication and on‑call readiness.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior technical ownership for the Data Platform during LatAm coverage, including on‑call escalation.
• Operate Snowflake production and non‑production environments, optimize sizing and performance.
• Manage data access with least‑privilege controls and audit readiness.
• Oversee ingestion across Fivetran, HVR, and custom pipelines, including scheduling and schema changes.
• Design and maintain pipelines and dbt models across RAW, CURATED, and CONSUMPTION layers with testing and CI/CD.
• Support AWS S3 data‑lake operations and downstream Snowflake workloads.
• Coordinate Argo Workflows and Kubernetes data workloads with Cloud/DevOps teams.
• Define data quality and observability standards and implement runbooks.
• Lead major data incidents, post‑incident reviews, and preventive actions.
• Support Tableau Cloud operations where upstream data issues occur.
• Identify standardization and automation opportunities and migrate to golden paths.
• Follow service‑management processes for incident, change, and release workflows.
• Create and maintain runbooks, architecture context, and knowledge transfer materials.
• Mentor engineers and ensure effective cross‑team handoffs.
• Participate in on‑call rotation for critical incidents outside staffed hours.
