HUBER+SUHNER is seeking an experienced Application Engineer to engage with customers, understand their technical requirements, and propose tailored solutions in fiber optics and optical networks. In this role you will support pre-sales activities, deliver presentations, and assist with product qualification and deployments.

Main tasks and duties:

• Engage with customers to understand technical requirements and propose appropriate solutions
• Support pre-sales activities including technical presentations, solution discussions, product recommendations, and proof-of-concept evaluations

Education and experience:

• Bachelor's Degree in Electronics, Telecommunications, Photonics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
• 4–8 years of experience in Application Engineering, Solutions Engineering, Technical Sales, System Engineering, or Customer Support
• Strong background in Fiber Optics, Optical Communication, Telecom Networks, Broadband Networks, or Data Center Infrastructure
• Good understanding of Ethernet networking and optical transport technologies
• Strong customer-facing and presentation skills
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work effectively with global customers and cross-functional teams
• Willingness to travel occasionally
• Preferred Skills
• Experience with optical transceivers (SFP, SFP+, SFP28, QSFP28, QSFP-DD, OSFP)
• Knowledge of CWDM, DWDM, Fiber Channel, and optical transport networks
• Familiarity with Cisco, Juniper, Arista, Nokia, Ciena, Dell, HPE, or similar networking platforms
• Experience supporting telecom operators, data centers, system integrators, or network equipment vendors
• Personal Qualifications:
• Responsible, reliable, accurate, analytical, and independent way of working
• Proactive with the necessary interest and willingness to learn new things
• Should be able to work in international, intercultural and cross functional teams
