En tant que Responsable Produit (PM) chez OPAL-RT, et relevant du Directeur Stratégie Produits et Investissements, vous serez le gardien de la vision produit, champion technique pour le marché, et acteur clé de l’évolution technologique de RT-LAB, SPS Software et ARTEMiS.

Votre mission : En étroite collaboration avec les Responsables Solution (SM), vous transformez les orientations marché en décisions produit claires : quoi construire, pourquoi cela compte et comment le livrer de manière performante et fiable. Vous orientez la trajectoire produit et garantissez que chaque fonctionnalité livrée est désirable, faisable et viable pour les leaders mondiaux de la transition énergétique.

À ce carrefour stratégique entre technologie, marché, données et usagers, vous jouez un rôle clé dans la capacité d’OPAL-RT à offrir les meilleures plateformes de simulation temps réel au monde. • Vision & trajectoire produit : transformer les orientations des SM en décisions produit cohérentes avec l’architecture et les objectifs.
• Spécifications : définir des exigences claires et actionnables, intégrant faisabilité, qualité et expérience utilisateur.
• Backlog & priorisation : construire et maintenir le backlog, arbitrer les demandes clients et gérer les interdépendances entre produits et programmes.
• Leadership collaboratif : aligner R&D, QA, SM, Marketing, Ventes, Services et Opérations sur les priorités et faciliter la prise de décision.
• Support SM/Ventes : apporter un éclairage technique, soutenir les démonstrations et valider les besoins clients stratégiques.
• Mise en production : préparer et piloter les mises en production, former les équipes internes et organiser les boucles de feedback.
• Qualité & UX : garantir performance, stabilité, ergonomie, supportabilité et documentation du produit, notamment en définissant avec SM/R&D/QA les standards de test et en validant les fonctionnalités livrées.
• Amélioration continue : suivre les indicateurs techniques (stabilité, dette, performance, fiabilité, maintenabilité) et proposer des optimisations.

• Formation et expérience professionnelle.
• Diplôme universitaire en génie électrique, informatique, logiciel ou domaine connexe (maîtrise un atout).
• Formation en gestion de produit, innovation ou marketing technologique (atout).
• 6+ ans en développement logiciel, ingénierie de systèmes, ou gestion de produit.
• Pratique des méthodologies Agile/Scrum et des outils de backlog (JIRA/équivalent).
• Atouts : relation client, analyse de marché/concurrence, participation à des validations clients ou projets multi-équipes.

• Connaissance des marchés énergie, transport, éducationnel, recherche et de leurs principaux acteurs.
• Connaissance de la simulation EMT et RMS des réseaux électriques et d’électronique de puissance et des environnements temps réel ou embarqués.
• Maitrise des architectures logicielles et matérielles et des contraintes liées à des produits complexes.
• Capacité à collaborer efficacement avec des experts techniques (architectes, développeurs, QA).

• Français obligatoire. La connaissance de l'anglais est requise pour la lecture de littérature technique disponible uniquement en anglais et la communication avec des partenaires anglophones; être capable de vulgariser, d’inspirer, et de s’adapter à des audiences variées, à l’interne comme à l’externe.
• Forte capacité de travail transversal avec influence, sans autorité hiérarchique
• Pensée systémique et aptitude à structurer, simplifier et prioriser dans un contexte à forte complexité technique et stratégique.

As a Product Manager (PM) at OPAL-RT, reporting to the Director of Product Strategy and Investments, you will be the guardian of the product vision, the technical champion for the market, and a key contributor to the technological evolution of RT-LAB, SPS Software, and ARTEMiS.

Your mission: In close collaboration with the Solution Managers (SM), you translate market directions into clear product decisions: what to build, why it matters, and how to deliver it efficiently and reliably. You guide the product trajectory and ensure that every delivered feature is desirable, feasible, and viable for global leaders in the energy transition.

At this strategic crossroads between technology, market, data, and users, you play a key role in OPAL-RT’s ability to deliver the best real-time simulation platforms in the world. • Product vision & roadmap: transform SM directives into product decisions aligned with architecture and objectives.
• Specifications: define clear and actionable requirements, integrating feasibility, quality, and user experience.
• Backlog & prioritization: build and maintain the backlog, arbitrate customer requests, and manage interdependencies between products and programs.
• Collaborative leadership: align R&D, QA, SM, Marketing, Sales, Services, and Operations on priorities and support decision-making.
• SM/Sales support: provide technical insights, support demos, and validate strategic customer needs.
• Release management: prepare and lead releases, train internal teams, and organize feedback loops.
• Quality & UX: ensure product performance, stability, usability, supportability, and documentation, notably by defining testing standards with SM/R&D/QA and validating delivered features.
• Continuous improvement: monitor technical indicators (stability, debt, performance, reliability, maintainability) and propose optimizations.

• Education and professional experience.
• University degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, software engineering, or related field (master’s an asset).
• Training in product management, innovation, or technology marketing (asset).
• 6+ years in software development, systems engineering, or product management.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and backlog tools (JIRA/equivalent).
• Assets: customer relations, market/competitive analysis, participating in customer validations or multi-team projects.

• Knowledge of the energy, transportation, education, and research markets and their key players.
• Knowledge of EMT and RMS simulation of power systems and power electronics, as well as real-time or embedded environments.
• Mastery of software and hardware architectures and constraints related to complex products.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with technical experts (architects, developers, QA).

• French required. English proficiency is needed to read technical literature available only in English and to communicate with English-speaking partners; ability to popularize, inspire, and adapt to diverse audiences, internally and externally.
• Strong ability to work cross-functionally with influence, without hierarchical authority.
• Systems thinking and ability to structure, simplify, and prioritize in a context of high technical and strategic complexity.
• Intellectual curiosity, autonomy, rigor, and effective management of large volumes of information.
