Job summary
A municipal organization in Eastern Ontario is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse to provide high-quality care in long-term care settings. This role involves monitoring health, administering medications, and collaborating with healthcare teams to ensure resident well-being. Candidates should possess a Practical Nursing diploma, be registered with the relevant nursing authority, and have experience in geriatric care. The position requires strong communication skills, compassion, and adherence to health regulations. Shift work is expected, including nights and weekends.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as an RPN, preferably in long-term care or a healthcare setting.
- Strong knowledge of geriatric care and chronic disease management.
- Ability to assess conditions and recognize changes to provide appropriate interventions.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care and monitor health status of residents.
- Collaborate with healthcare team to create and evaluate care plans.
- Educate residents and families on health conditions and wellness strategies.
