You are a talented professional looking for a career, not a job and dedicated to excellence in project management, finance process design and optimization. Reporting to the Senior Director, Finance Operations, the Manager, Finance Transformation will play a pivotal role in developing and advancing a transformation and modernization roadmap for Finance Function. This individual will identify opportunities to advance Finance capabilities and organization value through streamlining process and leveraging financial systems and automation to its full extent. You will balance a visionary mindset with a pragmatic approach to shape the priorities for transforming finance, ensuring they align with finance’s long-term goals. You will foster effective collaboration with all relevant stakeholders, including the CFO; finance leaders and staff; and other influential functional leaders from the business, Operations, IT, Compliance, Legal, to manage our drive toward finance's new operating model.
Responsibilities
Identify and Execute Finance Transformation Initiatives
- Play a key role in finance transformations by strategically prioritizing initiatives, fostering training and adoption, documenting current workflows, identifying and implementing process improvements, and developing objectives and key results (OKRs)
- Drive process modernization and governance by working across finance teams to understand current processes, identify and develop requirements for improvement, and collaborate cross-functionally to implement end-to-end solutions
- Perform assessment of resources required to execute transformation; develop, hire, or source internally the necessary digital talent to execute transformation objectives and effectively manage their redeployment to new projects as they arise
- Assist with change management and transition efforts (training, handoff) to foster stakeholder support and acceptance
- Research emerging technologies and trends in finance, such as robotic process automation, artificial intelligence, and data analytics
- Manage RFP / vendor selection process, evaluating proposals and ensuring the best value and fit for the organization.
Systematically Manage the Portfolio of Finance Transformation Initiatives :
- In partnership with Sr. Director, Finance Operations, create and maintain the finance transformation multi-year project roadmap
- Generate and source ideas for new finance transformation projects to build capabilities for meeting organizational needs
- Create and maintain a decision framework for determining when to end or pause in-flight projects
- Continuously evaluate the sequencing of transformation initiatives and re-sequence when functional needs change
- Balance the finance transformation portfolio to account for risks and time horizons
- Identify and address interdependencies across the different projects within finance’s transformation project portfolio.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or master’s in business administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience working specifically in a Finance Transformation capacity
- Working knowledge of Accounting and Finance processes (Chart of Accounts, General Ledger, Accruals, Order-to-Cash, Accounts Payable, etc.)
- Track record of success performing transformative organizational work, change management and process improvement initiatives, including redesigning operating models and implementing new technologies
- Exposure to financial systems and tools, such as ERP systems, EPM, BI tools and other data extraction and visualization tools with strong knowledge of emerging technologies and trends in finance, such as robotic process automation, artificial intelligence, and data analytics
- Experience working in a complex operating environment, multitasking, leading through ambiguities, influencing where he / she does not have direct authority & building unstructured formative situations
- Proven ability to work with diverse stakeholders, manage competing agendas and priorities, and translate complex information across functions
- Familiarity with project management methodologies (e.g., agile, lean) and how to apply them to Finance value streams
- Proven history of using project management skills to set time-bound priorities, drive results, and make tradeoffs
- Involvement in implementing or consolidating ERPs

- Superior management skills, ability to influence and engage direct and indirect reports and peers, prioritize and make tradeoffs, and deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and multiple internal customer demands
Advanced technology literacy and digital translation :
- Ability to exploit advanced technologies to drive better outcomes for finance and the business ability to explain how digital technologies interact with finance systems and business processes
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills to build relationships with key stakeholders across the organization
- Confidence in asking for the appropriate level of finance transformation resources and authority to evolve the finance operating model
Strategic thinking and planning :
- Ability to identify opportunities to leverage technology to transform finance work, challenge existing processes, and envision, design, and communicate a future state for the finance operating model
Nice-to-Haves
- PMP, Six Sigma, or other relevant certifications a plus
- Experience working in a start-up environment is a plus
- Experience in Fintech is a plus
