Starting Salary : $139,301; starting salaries are determined based on qualifications and years of related experience.

About the Associate Dean Role
Under the direction of the Senior Dean FSCS, the Associate Dean provides academic and administrative leadership, including leadership with equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging initiatives that support students, faculty and staff within the Social and Community program cluster.
This position supports the day-to-day operational management, and functioning, of academic programs and requires leadership of full-time, partial load and part-time faculty, support staff and a large body of students with a diverse range of needs and abilities. The candidate will balance competing priorities working towards the achievement of institutional goals, while including diverse perspectives within a multi-disciplinary Faculty.
Key responsibilities include :
The Associate Dean will also initiate, facilitate and actively participate in the development and implementation of new academic programs and the ongoing review of existing programs in response to changing economic and market pressures within industry and ministry standards and guidelines.

Education
The successful candidate will possess a relevant graduate degree, preference will be given to those with a background in community and social services.
Experience / Skills
The candidate should have demonstrated a minimum of 5 years of success in progressive leadership roles within the post-secondary environment, including a mix of post-secondary teaching and or other administrative experience.
The incumbent must possess strong emotional intelligence and conflict resolution skills with the ability to connect and communicate with people while demonstrating patience and understanding.
The applicant should possess experience in the following : leadership and motivation of faculty, staff and students in a post-secondary educational environment; hiring and directly supporting the development of exceptional post-secondary faculty; serving the needs of students from diverse backgrounds in a range of programming; marketing and promoting programs; monitoring program budgets; developing and launching new programs; leading or otherwise being a champion of student success, including partnership agreements and new ventures; practicing a collaborative leadership style; research capacity, particularly where this has involved students and community partners.
The candidate will have demonstrated the capacity to work collaboratively as a member of a strong administrative team.
Strong oral and written communication skills are required. Demonstrated digital fluency in a variety of technology-based applications is also essential.
