Connective in Maple Ridge, BC is seeking a Residence Worker to support youth in a specialized home. You will help residents with daily living, life skills, and medications under the guidance of the Program Manager, while partnering with families and external professionals.

You will work in a unionized environment, with part-time 16-hour weeks, Sundays to Mondays early morning, and a focus on trauma-informed care, collaboration, safety, and independent living goals for residents.

Formación

• Diploma in behavioural sciences or related field with one-year related experience.
• Experience working with children and youth with multiple diagnoses (FASD, ADHD, trauma, complex behaviors).
• Minimum 2 years’ experience working with Autism OR an educational background in ABA.
• Experience delivering trauma-informed care practices.
• Experience supporting children and youth with developmental delays, intellectual, emotional, and social challenges.
• Ability to manage challenging behaviours calmly and effectively.
• Ability to work in a specialized home environment with potential exposure to body fluids.

Responsabilidades

• Assists residents with activities of daily living and life-skills development.
• Interviews residents and families to prepare care plans and maintains confidentiality.
• Provides input on care plans and uses professional judgement in crises.
• Meets residents and families regularly to discuss progress and interventions.
• Supports residents toward integration and healthy functioning within the community.
• Administers and monitors client medication and assists with appointments.
• Supervises residence activities, maintains records, and coordinates meals and housekeeping.
• Participates in staff meetings and orientation of new staff.
