Job summary

PLEA Community Services Society of BC is seeking a Temporary Full-Time Youth Care Worker for the Lighthouse team in Maple Ridge, BC. The role focuses on supporting youth with behavioural challenges in a staffed resource home, ensuring their physical, emotional and educational needs are met.

The position runs Tue–Sat, 4:00PM–12:00AM, 40 hours/week, with benefits after probation and a focus on safety, communication and life skills development.

Qualifications

• Diploma (60 credits/two years) in a related human/social services field.
• Over six months of recent related experience.
• Equivalencies considered (as described in posting).

Responsibilities

• Monitor youth in residential settings to ensure safety and well-being.
• Coordinate communication between families, staff and external partners.
• Provide one-to-one and group support to youth on coping and life skills.
• Assist youth with daily routines, meals, housekeeping and personal care.
