Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Security License for Ontario.
• First Aid & CPR Level C certification required.
• Must have received two doses of the Covid vaccine.
• Valid G class Driver License is essential.
• Must not have major convictions and provide a driver’s abstract.
• Must be fluent in English, both oral and written.
• Previous experience in security or law enforcement is beneficial.
• Must provide certifications for Use of Force and Management of Aggressive Behavior.
• Legally authorized to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

• Remain alert and observant outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Communicate effectively with fellow Security Guards and management.
• Ensure site staff comply with Paladin Security policies.
• Conduct mobile patrols diligently.
• Document and investigate security incidents.
• Report any issues to supervisors or managers.
• Maintain a professional standard of security.
• Represent Paladin Security positively.
• Perform security duties per established procedures.
• Record discrepancies and safety hazards during patrols.
• Respond immediately to emergencies as per established protocols.

Position Details

Position: Full Time Security Guard

Site: Yorkville Village, First Capital

Pay Rate: $19.00 per hour

Schedule: Monday to Friday (0000 - 0800)

OT Method: Employment Standards Act

Key Responsibilities

• Being alert and observant while being outside, standing or walking for an extended period in all weather conditions (Rain, Snow, Excessive Heat & Cold…etc.)
• Always maintain communications with fellow Security Guard/dispatchers, Cliental and Paladin Managerial Staff.
• Ensures all site staff adhere to all Paladin Security policies and procedures.
• Completing mobile patrols diligently.
• Documents and investigates security incidents and complaints.
• Communicates any concerns/issues with Supervisor/Client Service Manager or the client.
• Always maintain the highest standard of security, being professional in attitude, appearance and application.
• Represent Paladin Security, Yorkville Village and their respected customers in such a way as to enhance the quality, image and reputation.
• Perform security duties in accordance with established procedures. Ensure they are being conducted within the limitations of any federal, provincial and municipal laws.
• Be observant and record all discrepancies, deficiencies and safety hazards/concerns noted during patrols and take corrective action either informing the applicable department or handling it personally, whenever possible.
• Be courteous, and helpful in enforcing all company policies, procedures, rules and regulations.
• Respond immediately to any emergency and co‑ordinate response accordingly based on established procedures.

Prerequisites / Qualifications

• Valid Security License for the province of Ontario.
• Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a WSIB‑approved vendor).
• Covid Vaccine two doses.
• Valid G class Driver License.
• Must provide driver’s abstract. No more than 2 minor convictions, no major convictions, and no more than 6 demerits in the last three years.
• English (oral and written) fluency is a must.
• Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field.
• Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB).
• Legally authorized to work in Canada.

Certification Requirements (All)

• Standard First Aid, CPR Level C.
• Valid Ontario Security License.
• Valid G or G2 Drivers Licence.
