Job description

The Derivative and Asset Modeling team is responsible for developing quantitative models and applications for asset and derivative valuation, as well as risk analytics. The team’s mandate includes supporting the Global Asset and Liability Management, US, Canadian and Asia Portfolio Management and Trading, Derivatives Strategy (Front Office), and Global Investment Strategy.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Assist in developing and enhancing user interfaces for the in-house risk valuation engine, collaborating with team members and stakeholders to gather requirements and feedback.
  • Test the valuation engine by preparing comprehensive test cases, documenting results, and reporting identified issues to support troubleshooting and resolution.
  • Support market data research and validation activities under the manager’s guidance.
  • Review existing model documentation and participate in updating model inventory records.
  • Document workflows, findings, and best practices to facilitate knowledge sharing and process improvement.
  • Provide support on ad hoc tasks and special projects across different areas of model development and validation.
Required Qualifications:
  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in mathematics, Finance, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with coursework or experience in computer science, or financial mathematics.
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as VBA, Java, HTML, C++, Python, MATLAB, or similar.
  • Basic understanding of financial concepts, derivatives, or risk management is an asset.
  • Experience with data analysis, modeling, or relevant academic projects preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Eagerness to learn and take on new challenges in a fast-paced environment.
