Job summary

The Seaboard Transport Group is seeking an HR Generalist to deliver comprehensive HR services across Western Canada, including Sherwood Park, Calgary, Regina, and remote sites. This maternity leave contract (14 months) offers a hands-on role supporting employee relations, benefits, workers’ compensation, and policy compliance.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of progressive HR Generalist experience in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong knowledge of Canada Labour Code and provincial laws (AB).
• Experience managing workers’ compensation claims and leave programs.
• Experience conducting workplace investigations and handling employee relations issues.
• Experience administering group benefits and RRSPs/pensions.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary contact for employee inquiries and concerns; resolve issues promptly.
• Guide supervisors on employee relations, disciplinary actions, and performance improvement plans.
• Conduct internal investigations and document outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable employment legislation.
• Support policy development, implementation, and communication across the organization.
• Partner with managers to implement performance reviews and development plans.
• Oversee benefits programs and liaison with providers; manage enrollments and changes.
• Manage workers’ compensation processes and return-to-work plans.
• Support recruitment and onboarding for both union and non‑union roles.
• Maintain HRIS data integrity and generate turnover, attendance, and compliance reports.
• Assist with internal audits and travel to field locations as needed.
