We are seeking a skilled Welder / Fabricator to join our growing team. This role involves a mix of structural steel fabrication, aluminum and stainless work, and ship repair, both in-shop and on site. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, mechanically inclined, and comfortable working in a marine or industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Fabricate and weld structural steel components in accordance with drawings and specifications
- Perform welding and fabrication on carbon steel, with aluminum and stainless steel experience considered a strong asset
- Carry out ship repair and marine fabrication work, including modifications and repairs on vessels
- Use welding processes such as SMAW (stick), GMAW (MIG), and GTAW (TIG) as required
- Read and interpret fabrication drawings, blueprints, and work orders
- Cut, fit, tack, and weld materials accurately and efficiently
- Operate fabrication equipment including grinders, saws, drills, and other shop tools
- Work safely in confined spaces and around heavy equipment when required
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Follow all company safety policies and applicable regulations
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 3 years as a welder/fabricator in an industrial or marine environment
- Strong experience welding structural steel
- Aluminum and stainless steel welding experience is an asset
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience with ship repair, marine fabrication, or work aboard vessels is an asset
- Welding tickets/certifications (CWB, marine, or equivalent) are an asset or willingness to obtain
- Physically capable of performing manual labor, including lifting, climbing, and working in varied environments
- Valid driver’s license
