Job summary

FWS Group of Companies is seeking Welders to join a collaborative, team-focused organization in Canada. The Welder will provide support to the department and Superintendent, reading construction drawings and laying out work to spec, while handling welding and related tasks.

The role requires a CWB SMAW certification, enrollment in or completion of an apprenticeship, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to work a 14/7 rotation with extended time away from home.

Qualifications

• CWB certification in SMAW is required.
• Experience in welding or enrollment in an Apprenticeship Program.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle required.
• Must be able to work a 14/7 rotation with time away from home.
• Own and maintain basic trade tools.
• Pre-Access drug & alcohol testing may be required.

Responsibilities

• Welds, performs ironwork or mechanical tasks as assigned.
• Uses welding and cutting equipment accurately and safely.
• Operates equipment including forklift, skid steer loader, scissor lifts and power tools safely.
• Reads and understands construction drawings and lays out work to drawings/specs.

As a Welder, you will provide support to the department and Superintendent.

Position Overview

• Responsible for welding, ironwork, or mechanical related tasks.
• Accurately and effectively uses various types of welding and cutting equipment.
• Responsible for safe use of equipment including forklift, skid steer loader, scissor lifts, and power tools.
• Reads and understands construction drawings, including providing accurate layout of the work and building to drawings and specifications.

Qualifications Needed

• CWB certification in SMAW is required.
• Appropriate level of experience in welding or enrolled in an Apprenticeship Program.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle are required.
• Must be able to work a 14/7 work rotation with extended time away from home.
• Own and maintain basic trade tools.
• Pre-Access drug & alcohol testing might be required.
