Job summary

FWS Group of Companies in Calgary, Alberta is seeking Welders to join our collaborative team. You will perform welding, ironwork, or mechanical tasks and read drawings to lay out work per specifications.

Candidates must hold a CWB certification in SMAW, have welding experience or be enrolled in an Apprenticeship, and possess a valid driver’s license. A 14/7 rotation away from home is required. We offer RRSPs, benefits and professional training.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle are required.
• Must be able to work a 14/7 work rotation with extended time away from home.

As a Welder, you will provide support to the department and Superintendent.

Position Overview:

• Responsible for welding, ironwork, or mechanical related tasks.
• Accurately and effectively uses various types of welding and cutting equipment.
• Responsible for safe use of equipment including forklift, skid steer loader, scissor lifts, and power tools.
• Reads and understands construction drawings, including providing accurate layout of the work and building to drawings and specifications .

Qualifications Needed:

• CWB certification in SMAW is required.
• Appropriate level of experience in welding or enrolled in an Apprenticeship Program.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle are required.
• Must be able to work a 14/7 work rotation with extended time away from home.
• Own and maintain basic trade tools.
• Pre-Access drug & alcohol testing might be required.
