Job summary

FWS Group of Companies is seeking a Welder to join our team and provide support to the department and Superintendent.

You will perform welding, ironwork or mechanical tasks, read construction drawings, and align work to drawings and specifications. The role requires a CWB SMAW certification and an apprenticeship path or relevant experience, plus a valid driver's license and reliable vehicle. A 14/7 rotation is expected.

Qualifications

• Must have CWB SMAW certification.
• Experience or enrollment in an Apprenticeship Program.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.
• Must be able to work a 14/7 rotation away from home.
• Own and maintain basic trade tools.
• Pre-access drug & alcohol testing may be required.

Responsibilities

• Welding, ironwork, or mechanical tasks on site.
• Operate and maintain welding/cutting equipment safely.
• Work with equipment like forklift, skid steer, scissor lifts.
• Read and interpret construction drawings and lay out work to drawings.

As a Welder, you will provide support to the department and Superintendent.

Position Overview

• Responsible for welding, ironwork, or mechanical related tasks.
• Accurately and effectively uses various types of welding and cutting equipment.
• Responsible for safe use of equipment including forklift, skid steer loader, scissor lifts, and power tools.
• Reads and understands construction drawings, including providing accurate layout of the work and building to drawings and specifications.

Qualifications Needed

• CWB certification in SMAW is required.
• Appropriate level of experience in welding or enrolled in an Apprenticeship Program.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle are required.
• Must be able to work a 14/7 work rotation with extended time away from home.
• Own and maintain basic trade tools.
• Pre-Access drug & alcohol testing might be required.
