FWS Group of Companies is recruiting welders to join our team in Calgary, Alberta. You will perform welding, ironwork and related tasks, reading drawings and laying out work to meet specifications.

We offer benefits, RRSPs, and professional training; candidates must have CWB SMAW certification and may be enrolled in an Apprenticeship Program. A valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle are required, with a 14/7 rotation and potential drug testing.

As a Welder, you will provide support to the department and Superintendent.

Position Overview

• Responsible for welding, ironwork, or mechanical related tasks.
• Accurately and effectively uses various types of welding and cutting equipment.
• Responsible for safe use of equipment including forklift, skid steer loader, scissor lifts, and power tools.
• Reads and understands construction drawings, including providing accurate layout of the work and building to drawings and specifications.

Qualifications Needed

• CWB certification in SMAW is required.
• Appropriate level of experience in welding or enrolled in an Apprenticeship Program.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle are required.
• Must be able to work a 14/7 work rotation with extended time away from home.
• Own and maintain basic trade tools.
• Pre-Access drug & alcohol testing might be required.
