Job summary

FWS Group of Companies is seeking a Welder to join our Calgary team. You will weld, read drawings, and lay out work to specification while supporting the department and Superintendent. The role requires safe operation of forklifts and other equipment on active construction sites.

The position includes a 21/7 work rotation with extended time away from home, and the company offers RRSPs, benefits, and professional training as part of a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• CWB SMAW certification is required.
• Experience welding or enrolled in Apprenticeship.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.
• Must be able to work a 21/7 work rotation with extended time away from home.
• Own and maintain basic trade tools.
• Drug & Alcohol testing may be required for certain job sites.

Responsibilities

• Welding, ironwork, or mechanical related tasks.
• Operate various welding and cutting equipment accurately and effectively.
• Safely use equipment including forklift, skid steer loader, scissor lifts, and power tools.

Position Overview

• Responsible for welding, ironwork, or mechanical related tasks.
• Accurately and effectively uses various types of welding and cutting equipment.
• Responsible for safe use of equipment including forklift, skid steer loader, scissor lifts, and power tools.
• Reads and understands construction drawings, including providing accurate layout of the work and building to drawings and specifications.

Qualifications Needed

• CWB certification in SMAW is required
• Appropriate level of experience in welding or enrolled in an Apprenticeship Program.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle are required
• Must be able to work a 21/7 work rotation with extended time away from home
• Own and maintain basic trade tools
• Drug& Alcohol testing may be required for certain job sites.
