Job summary

FWS Group of Companies is a fully integrated design, engineering, construction, and maintenance services firm. We are recruiting for Welders to join our collaborative and team focused organization. We offer RRSPs, benefits, and professional training.

As a Welder, you will provide support to the department and Superintendent, reading drawings, setting up equipment, and performing welding tasks to specifications. This role requires a 21/7 shift pattern and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• CWB SMAW certification is required.
• Experience in welding or enrollment in an Apprenticeship Program.
• Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle are required.
• Willingness to work a 21/7 rotation with extended time away from home.
• Own and maintain basic trade tools.
• Drug & Alcohol testing may be required for certain job sites.

Responsibilities

• Welding, ironwork, or mechanical tasks.
• Operate and maintain welding and cutting equipment accurately.
• Safely use equipment including forklift, skid steer, scissor lifts, and power tools.
• Read construction drawings and layout work to drawings/specifications.

Position Overview

• Responsible for welding, ironwork, or mechanical related tasks.
• Accurately and effectively uses various types of welding and cutting equipment.
• Responsible for safe use of equipment including forklift, skid steer loader, scissor lifts, and power tools.
• Reads and understands construction drawings, including providing accurate layout of the work and building to drawings and specifications.

Qualifications Needed

• CWB certification in SMAW is required
• Appropriate level of experience in welding or enrolled in an Apprenticeship Program.
• Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle are required.
• Must be able to work a 21/7 work rotation with extended time away from home.
• Own and maintain basic trade tools.
• Drug & Alcohol testing may be required for certain job sites.
