Job summary

Paladin Security is hiring a Full-Time Security Guard at Vaughan Mills. You will patrol interior and exterior areas, monitor access control, and respond to incidents with a focus on safety and customer service.

The role requires standing/walking long shifts, strong English communication, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Candidates should have First Aid & CPR Level C, a valid Class G Driver's Licence, and at least 1 year of security experience.

Qualifications

• Valid Standard First Aid & CPR Level C Certification
• Class G Driver's Licence with clean abstract
• Minimum 1 year of security experience
• 1–2 years of dispatching experience is a plus
• Mall/security or retail security experience is an asset
• Excellent verbal and written English communication

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular patrols of the property to ensure safety and identify risks
• Monitor access by verifying IDs and managing visitor entry
• Observe CCTV, alarms, and access control to detect incidents
• Respond to incidents and coordinate with emergency services as needed
• Maintain a visible presence to deter theft and trespass
• Assist tenants, employees, and visitors with directions and inquiries
• Enforce rules and safety procedures to maintain security
• Support emergency procedures and evacuations when required
• Inspect doors, locks, gates, and lighting and report concerns
• Complete tasks from Security Leadership and client directions

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct regular patrols of the property (interior and exterior), including parking areas, entrances, and common spaces, to ensure safety andidentifyany security risks or hazards
• Monitor and control access to the building by verifying IDs, managing visitor/vendor entry, and ensuring only authorized individuals enter restricted areas
• Observe site activity andmonitorCCTV, alarm systems, and access control systems to detect suspicious behavior or incidents
• Respond promptly to incidents, alarms, emergencies, or disturbances, and elevate to emergency services or management whenrequired.
• Maintain a visible presence to deter theft, vandalism, trespassing, and other unauthorized activities.
• Provide customer service support byassistingtenants, employees, and visitors with directions, inquiries, and general site support.
• Enforce property rules, safety procedures, and company policies tomaintainorder anda secureenvironment.
• Support emergency procedures such as evacuations, first aid response, and coordination with first responders whenrequired.
• Conduct routine inspections of doors, locks, gates, and lighting to ensure the property is secure andreportmaintenance or safety concerns.
• Perform duties and tasks assigned by the Security Leadership team and respond to the directions of theclient.

Qualifications

• Valid Standard First Aid & CPR Level C Certification (WSIB-approved provider)
• Valid Class G Driver's Licence with a clean Driver's Abstract
• Minimum 1 year of security experience required
• 1–2 years of dispatching experience or related experience considered an asset
• Previous mall security or retail security experience considered an asset
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-traffic environment
• High level of professionalism and attention to detail
• Strong observational and report-writing skillsAbility to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods (8–12 hours)
• Ability to work both indoors and outdoors as required
• Legally authorized to work in Canada
