Responsibilities

• Maintain compliance with property standards, rules, and regulations.
• Enforce access control procedures.
• Respond to medical emergencies and provide first aid, CPR, or AED support until professionals arrive.
• Conduct periodic patrols of property by foot or vehicle.
• Draft detailed incident and occurrence reports using the standard report-writing program.
• Maintain peace, safety, and security of patrons and clients on the property.
• De-escalate crises and assist emergency and law enforcement personnel.
• Assist with daily operations as needed or directed.

Site Description: Bridlewood Mall has been delighting shoppers since 1975. Voted one of Scarborough's favorite shopping mall's, it aims to provide visitors with the best possible shopping, dining and entertainment experience.

Position: Full Time (Temp) Security Guard

Site: Bridlewood Mall - 2900 Warden Ave., Scarborough, ON M1W 2S8

Hours: Monday to Friday (1500-2300)

Pay Rate: $19.25

Posting Date: September 25, 2026

Internal Closing Date: October 1, 2026

External Closing Date: October 9, 2026

Key responsibilities:

• Maintain compliance with and enforce property standards, rules, and regulations in a reasonable manner
• Able to use tact and diplomacy in dealings across a range of settings and situations
• Respond to medical emergencies and provide first aid, CPR, or AED support until medical professionals arrive
• Ability to maintain and enforce access control procedures
• Solid understanding of emergency and standard operating procedures
• Deal with trespassers and unauthorized persons found on the property, in a fair and safe manner, by enforcing the Trespass to Property Act
• Assist with Fire & Life Safety inspections
• Maintain a detailed memo book and prepare incident reports on all matters dealt with using the standard report-writing program
• Conduct periodic patrols of property either by foot or by vehicle.
• Investigate incidents and occurrences
• Draft detailed incident and occurrence reports
• Maintain the peace, safety, and security of all patrons, and clients on the property
• De-escalate emergency/crisis situations
• Assist emergency and law enforcement personnel
• Access control, line management, customer service
• Assist with daily operations as needed/required or directed.
• Other duties as outlined by management

Prerequisites:

• Valid Security License for the province of Ontario
• Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a WSIB-approved vendor)
• English (oral and written) fluency is a must
• Must be willing and able to stand, walk, and patrol by foot and vehicle for extended periods (8-12 hours)
• Must demonstrate a high degree of professionalism
• Must have at least 1 year of prior security experience
• Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
• Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
• Please be aware: The UoF/MOAB training is not paid as it is a pre-requisite; however, Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
• Authorized to legally work in Canada
