Job summary

Paladin Security in Hamilton is seeking a Full Time Security Guard for a high-profile government building. You will monitor and patrol the site, control access, and provide assistance to staff and visitors while coordinating with emergency services as needed.

Ideal candidates have a G-Class license, Ontario Security Guard License, First Aid CPR C, and at least one year of security experience, with strong English skills and MOAB/UOF training. Legally eligible to work in Canada is required.

Qualifications

• Valid G-Class license with clean driving record (last 3 years)
• Ontario Security Guard License and First Aid CPR C
• At least 1 year of security experience
• Fluent English (oral and written)
• Have UOF and MOAB certifications or training on onboarding

Responsibilities

• Monitor and patrol the premises to ensure safety and security
• Maintain a visible presence to deter unauthorized access or unlawful activities
• Control access at TA points and ensure only authorized personnel enter
• Report incidents, accidents, or security breaches promptly to management
• Complete daily logs and security reports
• Provide assistance to employees, visitors, and vendors on site
• Cooperate with local law enforcement and emergency services as needed
• Ensure safety equipment is maintained and ready for use
• Be conversant with emergency duties and procedures
• Liaise with other security staff and bus drivers transporting TA workers
• Perform miscellaneous duties and operate security portable access readers

Site Address: King Street West & Bay Street South, Hamilton

Overtime Method: Employment Standards Act – calculating after 88 hours bi-weekly

Hours: Monday - Friday (0830-1630)

This site is a Government of Ontario Building.

Key responsibilities:

• Monitor and patrol (foot and vehicle) the premises to ensure safety and security.
• Maintain a visible presence to deter unauthorized access or unlawful activities.
• Control access at TA points and ensure only authorized personnel enter the premises.
• Assist in the enforcement of company policies and procedures, including monitoring and reporting any suspicious activities.
• Report any incidents, accidents, or security breaches promptly to the management team.
• Complete daily logs and security reports, documenting any unusual occurrences.
• Provide assistance to employees, visitors, and vendors as needed.
• Cooperate with local law enforcement, emergency services, and other authorities when necessary.
• Ensure all safety equipment is properly maintained and ready for use.
• Security personnel are to be conversant with emergency duties and procedures
• Report incidents to appropriate personal as required
• Liaise with other security staff on site
• Liaise with bus drivers transporting TA workers
• Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
• Ability to utilize security portable access readers

Requirements :

• Valid G-Class driver’s license with last 3 years of clean driver’s abstract required
• Valid Ontario Security Guard License and First Aid CPR C
• Minimum one year of experience working in security
• Proficient in English (both oral and written)
• Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
• Applicants who do not possess these certifications can opt into Paladin's Use of Force (UOF)/Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
• Legally authorized to work in Canada

Please be aware: The UOF/MOAB certification is not paid as it is a pre-employment requisite; however, Paladin will cover all the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
