Job summary
A transportation company in the Peel Region is looking for a professional to plan routes and handle goods. The successful candidate will be responsible for vehicle maintenance, inspections, and providing excellent customer service. A secondary school graduation certificate is required, and experience is considered an asset. This is a permanent position with work hours ranging from 35 to 40 hours per week.

- Plan or adjust routes to minimize fuel consumption.
- Load and unload goods.
- Oversee vehicle condition and perform inspections.

Responsibilities
- Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, global positioning systems (GPS) equipment, or other navigation devices, to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions
- Professionalism in customer service
- Load and unload goods
- Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment
- Perform brake adjustments
- Perform emergency roadside repairs
- Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle
- Perform preventive maintenance
- Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
