Job summary

Flaman Sales Ltd. in Wheatland County, AB, is seeking an experienced Transport Trailer/Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our Calgary area team. Based at our new facility, you will diagnose and repair heavy equipment and trailers, delivering reliable service to customers.

The role requires a journeyperson HD mechanic, familiarity with mechanical and trailer equipment, strong teamwork, and the ability to lift up to 55 lbs and own tools. Overtime and occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic with experience.
• Familiar with mechanical and agricultural/trailer equipment; farming background is a plus.
• Team player with a positive attitude and reliability.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to balance priorities.
• Willing to lift up to 55 lbs and own tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
• Work safely and efficiently.
• Complete required paperwork per company policies, procedures and protocols.
• Diagnose mechanical/electrical issues and perform repairs.
• Operate welding equipment and install accessories.
• Maintain open communication with supervisor and team.
• Overtime may be necessary during busy season.
• Occasional overnight travel to Nisku, AB.

Primary Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers
• Work safely and efficiently
• Complete required paperwork according to company policies, procedures and protocols
• Problem Solving and Trouble Shooting
• Diagnose mechanical/electrical issues
• Provide quality Repairs/Service/Maintenance on equipment and trailers as per work orders
• Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment (ie: flame-cutting, brazing and soldering equipment)
• Installation of accessories and equipment
• Maintain open communication with supervisor, manager and team
• Other duties/tasks as required
• Occasional overnight travel may be required (ie: training at our head office in Nisku, AB)
• Overtime may be necessary during busy season

Skills and Qualifications:

• Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic (must have experience)
• Familiar with mechanical and agricultural/trailer equipment (farming background would be an asset)
• Team player with a positive “can do” attitude
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to balance multiple priorities
• Have a great work ethic and eager to learn new things
• Reliable attendance record and punctual
• Good communication skills and willingness to help other team members
• Ability to safely lift, push, pull or carry heavy products, up to 55lbs on your own (as required)
• Valid Class 5 License, clean driver’s abstract and satisfactory criminal record check
• Must have own tools
