Job summary

The Salvation Army Canada and Bermuda Territory is seeking a temporary Campaign Operations Supervisor for the Ottawa Toy Mountain campaign. You will oversee day-to-day operations, ensure safety and efficiency in admin, sorting, setup, receiving, and packing of toys, and coordinate with partners and volunteers.

Responsibilities include recruiting and training staff, organizing volunteer schedules, managing toy inventory, and liaising with community partners and media for campaign promotion.

Qualifications

• Previous experience and/or education in campaign operations, as well as recruitment and supervision of paid/unpaid staff is an asset.
• Minimum of one (1) year of prior related supervision experience is an asset.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Office products and good working knowledge of email and internet-based programs.

Responsibilities

• Follow the campaign operating manual and create a floor plan to ensure admin, sorting, setting up, receiving and packing toy areas work efficiently and safely.
• Collaborate with the Director of Community Services on procurement of items (tables, draping, bags, labels, cages, toys).
• Lead recruitment and training for Toy Mountain workers, including agencies and satellite locations; optimize safety for staff and volunteers.
• Create volunteer schedules with Ottawa Booth Centre’s volunteer coordinator to supplement the team.
• Act as first point of contact with community partners and coordinate toy pickups; support PR, media, and promotional needs.
• Direct staff and volunteers on day-to-day tasks: toy inventory, sorting, packing, and replenishment.
• Respond to community concerns; escalate to Public Relations as needed.
• Complete campaign documentation timely, including weekly staff timesheets for payroll and approvals.
• Coordinate with Manager of Community Services for unusuable toys for delivery to Community & Family Services Department.
• Compile statistics and postmortem data at campaign end for evaluation.
