Job summary

The Salvation Army Canada & Bermuda is seeking a temporary Christmas Toy Shop Worker to support Community and Family Services during the holiday season. You will help set up toy distribution, register clients, manage toy donations, and assist volunteers and callers with compassion and efficiency.

Flexibility in shifts is required; lifting up to 30 lbs and possibly heavier with assistance. A High School diploma is required and prior community-based program experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Completed High School or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of prior related experience in community-based programs.

Responsibilities

• Assist with set-up, take-down and organization of toy distribution.
• Assist with scheduling and organization tasks of volunteers.
• Assist with client registrations.
• Receive and process donations of toys for distribution and provide assistance with packing, counting and sorting toy donations.
• Assist with recording statistical data clearly and accurately.
• Receive and address telephone calls from clients requiring assistance.
